The year is wrapping up, but we're still going strong and excited to share lots of good news with you! This edition of our progress report is packed with updates. Before we dive in, here are two quick steps toward Zero DFV you can take in under 30 seconds:
1. Subscribe to our new YouTube channel
2. While you’re there, share this fantastic reel with your friends on social media (see if you recognise a few friendly faces!)
Ok, grab a glass of your favourite refreshment, here we go. Ahead...
The Hills community shone brightly during the 16 Days of Activism, which began on 25 November, 2025. Ten major events occurred during the period, and many of them, such as the Soroptimist Rose Garden and the ‘Good Men Don’t’ podcast, continue to raise awareness and educate people about healthy, respectful relationships.
Zero DFV supported the community’s efforts through a small-scale Instagram competition called Count Me In, which raised awareness of the events and encouraged people to get involved. CHRG assisted with promotion using their in-venue digital noticeboards and back-of-door posters.
We’re excited to share that the campaign reached over 100,000 people in The Hills Shire! This included more than 36,000 through paid promotion, over 83,000 via hashtags, and an extra 35,000 through CHRG’s foot traffic. If you would like to read the full report, please contact us.
On December 11, we held the official prize draw, and were delighted to see Leanne Wright win the $250 CHRG Gift Card. It is a wonderful reward for her amazing contributions to the community during the 16 Days.
Running alongside the development of the Zero DFV program’s processes and content is the important question of the people resources required to support and sustain the program. The answer to that question continues to evolve as the pilot progresses, but we now have clarity on a few details, and I have shared them with you in this post update.
Our streak of 'K' names continues! Starting in January, Katie and I are thrilled to welcome Kirsty Sier to the team. Each Friday, Kirsty will step into the role of Community Mobilisation Lead, bringing deep expertise in getting the broader community engaged in the journey to Zero DFV. Check out Kirsty’s LinkedIn profile.
Keep your eyes open for the Facts & Stats campaign we are running on Facebook and Instagram. Please share, like and comment on the posts when you see them. The posts are also available on Google Drive if you would like to share them through your channels. Need other content and formats? Let us know via reply email, and we will make it happen!
To help everyone build healthy relationships, we’ve created a new Find Support Near You page on the Zero DFV website. If you know of other helpful programs, let us know, and we’ll add them!
The Expert Squad kicks off in the New Year. Make sure you keep an eye out for Katie's meeting invitations. You can also view all dates on the Upcoming Activities page. You need to be registered as an Expert Squad member to receive the invitation. New people are always welcomed with open arms. If you’re not sure whether your name is down, please reply to this email, and we will get it sorted.
Katie will soon send the invitation for our next Amplifier Squad meeting! We'll meet online at 1pm AEDT on Friday, 9 January 2026. Since everyone’s eager to get started, we’re kicking things off early in the year. Our focus over the next few months will be on delivering presentations to employers and organisations throughout the community to encourage them to join the Zero DFV journey. Start thinking about who we should reach out to.
That’s it for the highlights! As the festive season approaches, I hope you’ll take a moment to celebrate all the fantastic work you’ve done for your community this year. Your passion and dedication truly make The Hills a special place.
