If you've ever built a house or watched episodes of Grand Designs, you know that an enormous amount of work goes into the construction process before anything resembling a house takes shape. Those early days of planning and laying foundations test the owner's grit and determination. But all their effort is rewarded when the frame goes up and suddenly the project comes alive.

We have reached that day with Zero DFV. In the coming week, you will see it take shape in the community and resonate with the hearts and minds of people across The Hills Shire who are passionate about creating a community where domestic and family violence can no longer exist.

Quick steps you can take toward Zero DFV

Large or small, every step matters because they all move our community forward. You can contribute one of these quick steps toward The Hills' success right now.

Join the Amplifier Squad

The Amplifier Squad will meet for the first time at 6:30pm on October 30, 2025. If you're a social person who loves to give a few hours to a good cause, we'd love to get you involved.

We will meet online for 30 minutes each month and engage in fun activities to connect the community's hearts and minds in the quest to achieve Zero DFV. You choose much time you contribute.

Session Report

Last week, we held two online briefing sessions to introduce the community to the 5-Year Roadmap for the Zero DFV program. You can watch a video of the presentation below. 16 people attended the sessions and more have viewed the recording. Questions following the presentation focused on logistics and actions, which is a fantastic sign that everyone is ready to move forward in achieving the community's goals.

More wins this month

Here are some more steps we've taken since our last newsletter. Have you taken steps also? Let us know!

  • CHRG is developing a new website to house all Zero DFV activities
  • We have commenced recruitment for the Community Facilitator
  • We have mapped out the program guide for the Expert Squad. We'll share more details on this in our next newsletter
  • Zero DFV brand developed, and brand kit established on Canva. If you are a content creator (or know one), please put them in touch, and we can provide them with access
